Located in Mae Suai, about 50km from Chiang Rai city, Wat Saeng Kaeo Phothiyan is an impressive temple complex still under construction. It boasts a stunning wiharn with gold and red murals and a beautiful golden Buddha. The back of the complex also contains Ganesh statues, a giant-armed Guanyin, and large golden figures representing venerated monks. Visitors should remember to adhere to proper dress code, take off shoes when entering buildings, be quiet, and not smoke while visiting the temple.
