The area around Ploenchit Road and Chidlom is to Bangkok what Orchard Road is to Singapore, and Knightsbridge to London. Some of Bangkok's finest malls can be found here, Along with these great malls come some wonderful hotels. Central Embassy is another highlight, and many embassies are also located closeby in Wireless and Rajadamri Roads. A variety of good restaurants and fine serviced apartments can be found down Langsuan Road. I recommend Ippudo Ramen, Lenzi Tuscan Kitchen, Nami Teppanyaki Steakhouse, and Bambino. Some good views of the area can be seen from condominiums, hotels or rooftops like Park Hyatt's Penthouse bar, the pool at Okura Prestige hotel, Noble Ploenchit Condo, Rosewood Bangkok or the many tall buildings around. From far away, you can have a view over all Ploenchit area from the rooftop of IdeoQ condominium (need to book airbnb).
