Overview: Drone Laws in Indonesia

The good news first:

• Recreational drone flights are allowed without complex requirements.

• For commercial use, no registration or special permits are needed either—at least officially.

But there's still important stuff to keep in mind:

Max Altitude 150 m (≈ 492 ft) in uncontrolled airspace

Weight Limit Under 7 kg for hobby drones

Visual Line of Sight Must maintain direct visual contact

Nearest Airport Distance Maintain at least 15 km buffer from runways

Cloud Distance Vertically ≥ 150 m; horizontally ≥ 600 m

No-Fly Zones Avoid restricted or sensitive areas by at least

500 m Daylight & Visibility Only Flying at night or in poor visibility is prohibited. Minimum visibility: 4.8 km
