Driving here gives you freedom, but watch out for two things:
Adventurous Itinerant
Lake Como, Italy
ZTL Zones: Be very careful of signs saying Zona a Traffico Limitato. Historic centers (like in Lecco, Bellagio, and even smaller villages) are off-limits to non-resident cars, and cameras will issue automatic fines.
The Parking App: Download the EasyPark app before you arrive. It works in almost all paid blue-line parking spots around the lake. It saves you the stress of hunting for coins and lets you extend your parking time remotely if you decide to stay on a mountain top a little longer!
