Get ready for one of Helgeland's most rewarding hikes, the trek up Rødøyløva, the 'Red Island Lion'. The trail, made more accessible with stone steps built by Sherpas, is a steady climb that rewards you with absolutely breathtaking 360-degree views over thousands of islands, white sandy beaches, and turquoise waters. The summit itself is a thrilling experience, with a sheer 400-meter drop offering a dramatic perspective of the stunning coastline stretching from the Lofoten Wall to the north to Vega in the south. The hike starts from Klokkergården, which is about a 2.5 km walk or bike ride from the ferry quay, and the round trip to the summit and back will take you about 2 to 4 hours.
