Waihi Falls is one of those road trip detours that might add a little extra time to your drive, but it’s worth it if you're in no rush. Located in Waihi Falls Scenic Reserve, this 25-meter waterfall is tucked away in a peaceful spot that feels a bit like a hidden gem.
It's not as famous as some of the bigger waterfalls, but its charm makes it a nice little stop. The falls are only a short 10-minute walk (just a couple hundred meters) from the carpark, making it super easy to access. Keep in mind though, if you're visiting during a dry summer, the water flow might be a bit lighter. But regardless, it’s a pretty relaxing spot to stretch your legs and enjoy some nature.
