The ferry ride costs $21.00 for a return walk-on ticket, making it an easy and budget-friendly escape from the city. Once you’re on the island, getting around is a breeze with options like rental bikes, buses (which are only 50 cents), or 4WD vehicles for those adventurous spots. I find the public buses to be the most convenient and economical option, as they run regularly and are quite cheap.

Straddie is iconic for its natural beauty, from its pristine sands to lush bushland, and offers fantastic whale-watching opportunities, especially from June to November.
