What to Pack

Medellín is known as the city of eternal spring, which means the weather here is so beautiful and very Spring-like. What do you think about when you think of Spring? April showers bring May flowers, right? so be prepared for a possibility of rain while you are here. It is beautiful all year round and it can rain all year round too.

Some important things to bring:

• Rain coat

• umbrella

• walking shoes - a lot of the city is located on hills

• Bug Spray

Do people dress up nicely?

Yes, a lot of Paisas dress up and look nice. That said, you don't have to and you will be totally fine!

Can I wear shorts?

It is becoming more popular in Medellin to wear shorts, but it still is more common to see most people wearing pants. But don't let that deter you, you are absolutely able to wear shorts and both men and women do it! You may stand out a bit, and that is okay! Colombians are so nice, they will make you feel welcomed either way!

Can I wear flip flops?

This is definitely less common. And honestly, you probably don't want to. This city is full of hills, so you definitely will want something more sturdy.

Should I wear heals?

Again, the city is full of hills. Take that into account with your packing.

Is it hot?

There are times it can be warm, but it generally is the same temperatures. Be prepared for an occasional rain in the afternoon and into the late evening.
