Welcome to Lake Minnewanka, what the Stoney Nakoda First Nations call the ‘Water of the Spirits.’ This is the largest lake in Banff, and its deep, emerald waters are framed by absolutely stunning mountain peaks. You can take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline trail right from the parking area, enjoy a picnic with an incredible view, or hop on a scenic boat cruise to Devil's Gap. For a bit more of a walk, the Stewart Canyon trail is a relatively easy and rewarding option that follows the lake's edge.
