Things to know before visiting Denmark
Denmark is generally an easy country to explore. Below, I've gathered a few useful things to know before your first trip.

Denmark (english), Denmark
🗣️ LANGUAGE:
Danish is the official language, but most Danes speak excellent English, and you'll have no problem communicating almost anywhere.
💰 CURRENCY:
Denmark uses the Danish Krone (DKK). Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. Many locals also use MobilePay, but it's only available to users with a Danish bank account. I recommend carrying a small amount of cash for roadside stalls, farm shops and other small, self-service places.
🚰 DRINKING WATER:
Tap water is safe to drink throughout Denmark and is of excellent quality. Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it on the go.
🍽️ FOOD:
Danish food culture combines traditional dishes, fresh local ingredients, and modern Nordic cuisine, with a relaxed dining style where reservations are often recommended; organic, vegetarian and vegan options are widely available.
🔌 ELECTRICITY:
Denmark uses Type C and Type K plugs with a standard voltage of 230V. If you're travelling from outside Europe, you may need a travel adapter.
📶 WIFI:
Free WiFi is available in most hotels, cafés and public spaces, and mobile coverage is excellent across the country.
