Living in Bali has become significantly more expensive since I first arrived, so I know first-hand how challenging it can be to find an affordable place to live long-term.

For most people, the best option in the beginning is to stay in a guesthouse or to share a villa with others. Guesthouses are usually a great starting point both financially and socially. • Private rooms in houses/villas: around 12–15 million IDR per month (standard price range depending on area and condition)
