The trail for Lower Muley Twist begins either at the Post Trailhead or at the top of the Burr Trail Switchbacks (see below). I recommend parking at the Post Trailhead and hiking into canyon via the cutoff trail.

The trail traverses across the desert before climbing up and over the Waterpocket Fold and dropping down into a canyon. It’s a fun and adventurous trail with fantastic views. Once you’re in Lower Muley Canyon you can continue the hike as an out-and-back, or create a long loop hiking back out through Grand Gulch.
