This gannet colony is near Napier and is a really cool wildlife spot where you can see thousands of gannets nesting on the cliffs right above the ocean. You cannot just walk there on your own because the land is private, so you have to book a tour to visit. There are usually several tours during the day and they take around 2-3 hours.

On a clear day, you can even see the Ruapehu volcano from Tongariro National Park, which is really cool.
