Cape Reinga Lighthouse is about a 5h 30min (400km) drive from Auckland so before you can start your hike you’ll need to find transport to get there! Common transport options include catching the New Zealand Intercity bus + Cape Reinga tour bus, organising a lift through a TA walkers Facebook group or having family or friends drop you off if you’re lucky enough to have people in the area.
