Lake Hauroko Lookout Track is an adventurous 3.1 mile out-and-back trail near Tuatapere, Southland. This trail is considered challenging and hikes usually take around two hours to complete. It offers bird-watching opportunities and stunning views of Lake Hauruko, Foveaux Strait, and surrounding mountains. As the track can sometimes be muddy and slippery, it’s best to bring good walking shoes or boots. Despite its difficulty, all the efforts are worth it with the amazing view at the peak!
