Karekare Falls is one of New Zealand's must-see attractions located in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, near Karekare village. It is a stunning 30m horsetail waterfall with easy access and incredible surrounding scenery, making it the perfect spot for a hike or swim. To get there, follow the road to Piha and turn left when you see the sign for Karekare. From there, drive straight until you reach the top of the falls and begin your 10-minute return track to the lookout. For those looking for an extra adventure, take the Taraire tramping track for a 1-hour return climb to the top of the waterfall.
