Box Canyon Cave is an exciting and unique attraction located in Kahurangi National Park and Karamea area in the West Coast region of New Zealand. The cave is carved out of 35-million-year-old limestone, making it a geological marvel. The walls of the cave offer an array of colors, from blue-grey mudstone and 350-million-year-old granite. Tourists are invited to explore the cave on their own time, without needing a guide, and with the aid of a torch. Visitors can walk around the cave to take in its natural beauty, or even look for rare Nelson Cave Spiders that live within it.
