In 2010, Praia do Portinho da Arrábida was elected as one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal. Indeed, it is one of the most beautiful beached in the country! The blue and green tones of the waters and the contrast with the preserved vegetation of the surrounding mountains of Serra da Arrábida make this place an incomparable refuge in the metropolitan region of Lisbon.

Praia do Portinho da Arrábida has crystal clear and calm waters, clear sand, fishes everywhere, and great infrastructure. Plus you can get there in less than an hour by car from Lisbon.

Portinho da Arrábida is not just for those who enjoy lying on the sand to sunbathe. This place also has at least 6 restaurants, as well as being very suitable for stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and scuba diving.

Located right next to it, the 17th century's Fortress of Nossa Senhora da Arrábida further enriches this mesmerizing landscape. Currently, the structure houses the Oceanographic Museum.

During Summer, be aware that the secondary roads in the region are closed, so if you choose to go by car, make sure you arrive early to get a good parking space along the main road. If you don't enjoy walking, you can opt for a tuktuk, which will take you to the beach for €3 per person.

From Praia do Portinho da Arrábida it is also possible to access three other beaches by foot or swim: Praia dos Coelhos, Praia dos Galapinhos and Praia dos Galapos. There’s no need to say how much we recommend this place.
