This guide offers ideas to get more remote than just the normal road trip. I've marked tons of trail heads, rivers, National Parks and other wilderness areas. If you're into specific areas to backpack, sea kayak, or pack raft, I'd love to send over recs and even personalized itineraries based on your timeline, skill level, and interests.

Hey! I'm Michael. I'm whitewater raft guide in Valdez Alaska. I quit my job in NYC over five years ago so I could spend more time outside. Since then, I've lived out of a tent for 8 months straight, free dived in Thailand, whitewater kayaked in Ecuador and Patagonia, rafted for 21 days down the Grand Canyon, and ended up spending most summers in Alaska. I've guided in Denali National Park and right outside the Chugach National Forest.
