• Google Maps - our favourite map for navigating. Don't forget to download the maps so you can use them offline as signal can be very patchy!

• Park4Night - a great app that shows you locations where you can camp (as long as you are self contained) in a motorhome or campervan

• AllTrails - a great app for hiking

• Met Office Weather Forecast- an awesome weather app!

• Aurora Watch UK Aurora Alerts- a fantastic app to track the hot spots for the Northern Lights

• Toilet Finder is a great one for finding public toilets!

• Tides Near Me is a great app for checking tide times. Super important when you are exploring the coast.

• Petrol Prices is a super helpful app to look for petrol stations!

• Booking.com or Airbnb are great apps for checking out accommodation

• Midge forecast - an awesome website to indicate the midge levels across areas of Scotland

• Scottish Outdoor Access Code - This website breaks down the code and explains your rights and responsibilities when enjoying the outdoors, including camping, walking and parking in nature!
