⚠️ Important Snorkeling Tips for Rarotonga⚠️

- 🚫 Stay Away from the Passages: Currents through the reef passages can be strong and dangerous. Never snorkel near or in them.

- 🌬️ Mild Currents at Fruits of Raro: Especially with south-easterly winds—fins are recommended to make swimming easier and safer.

- 🥾 Wear Reef Shoes or Fins: Protect your feet from sharp coral, rocks, stone fish and sea urchins.

- 🧴 Use Reef-Safe Sunscreen or a Rash Shirt: Regular sunscreen damages coral; reef-safe brands or rash shirts are better for your skin and the environment.

- 🌡️ Check Tides and Weather: Mid to high tide is safest and easiest for snorkeling at most spots.

- 🛶 Explore Muri Lagoon by Kayak or Paddleboard: For clearer water and better snorkeling around the outer motu (small islands).

- 🎒 Bring Your Own Gear if Possible: Not all beaches have nearby rental shops, and your own gear will usually fit best.

- 🐠 Respect the Marine Life: Look but don’t touch. Coral is fragile, and marine life needs space to thrive.
