Palm Jumeirah is a man-made archipelago in Dubai, UAE, shaped like a palm tree. It's part of the Palm Islands project, aiming to extend Dubai's shoreline by 520 kilometers. With over 25,000 residents, the island features a mix of commercial and residential areas on the trunk, luxurious villas on the fronds, and upscale resorts on the outer crescent. The construction started in 2001, with the first units handed over in 2006. The Palm Jumeirah also boasts the Middle East's first monorail, connecting it to the mainland. Despite some environmental impacts, like stagnant water and jellyfish sightings, the island remains a popular destination for residents and tourists alike.
