Lumphini is Bangkok’s most central park and is famous for its resident monitor lizards. Hundreds of them are around the park and have become local celebrities, and it’s almost impossible to walk there for more than 10 minutes without seeing one.
You also get some nice views of the city from beside the lake, but the monitor lizards are the star attraction.
They often run events here, like the annual Red Cross Fair in December.
Bonus tip: Go to the rooftop garden at Dusit Central Park (a mall) for a great view of Lumphini and the surrounding skyline.
