Cascade Blanche plunges more than 600 meters down the cliffs of Salazie, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in France. You can see it clearly from the roadside lookout on the way to Salazie village, where it cuts a white streak down the mossy rock face. On misty days, it vanishes into the clouds, then reappears in flashes of light and water.

For those wanting more than a photo stop, a demanding hike leads from near Hell-Bourg to the base of the falls. The path is rough, overgrown, and only for experienced hikers with good gear and solid navigation. If you do make it down, the reward is a hidden world of spray, moss, and thundering sound.
