Malpaga Castle, located in Cavernago near Bergamo, is a remarkable example of 15th-century military and residential architecture. Purchased by Bartolomeo Colleoni in 1456, it was transformed into a lavish residence and cultural center that hosted distinguished guests such as the King of Denmark and Charles the Bold. Surrounded by a moat, the castle features 17th-century frescoes and still preserves its historical and artistic charm. After Colleoni’s death, it passed to the Martinengo-Colleoni family and later to the Crespi family, before being restored and revitalized as a cultural and tourist landmark.
