Kverkfjöll stands as a majestic glacial mountain range, surrounded by expansive hot springs, nestled in the remote eastern highlands of Iceland. Discover hidden ice caves, marvel at bubbling hot pots, and embark on invigorating hikes within the rugged terrain of Kverkfjöll.

For those seeking an adventurous escape devoid of crowds, Kverkfjöll promises a fulfilling experience. However, it is imperative to enlist the guidance of a local expert or consult with a Kverkfjöll ranger before venturing forth. The glacier presents challenges with numerous crevasses, emphasizing the crucial role of local knowledge.

Access to Kverkfjöll is limited to the summer months, reachable via the highland roads F902, Kverkfjallaleið, and/or F903, Hvannalindavegur. While F902 is a rough mountain road without river crossings, connecting roads such as F910, F905, or F88 involve medium-sized rivers that necessitate fording. F903, with its tougher terrain and two unbridged medium-sized rivers, offers a more demanding route for those seeking an exhilarating journey.
