Mum & I loved it here! We wanted to get out of the chaos of Geelong, and it's just 20 mins out of town and feels like such an escape!

The Leigh River is a fab little spot if you’re looking for a free place to set up camp near Inverleigh. You can get to it via the train tracks or the bridge just south of town, which makes it feel a bit off-the-beaten-track (but not too much effort to find).

There’s a gorgeous river nearby, perfect for a morning stroll or just chilling out by the water with a cuppa. It’s a pretty relaxed setup, so don’t expect too many bells and whistles—this one’s all about getting back to basics and soaking in the natural vibes.

It’s pet-friendly too, so your furry mate can tag along for the adventure. Just make sure to keep an eye on them, especially near the water or if other campers are about.
