If possible, organise a car shuffle so you don't need to walk both ways!
The Kiama to Gerringong section of the Kiama Coast Walk is so special, mum & I loved it – about 6 km of pure coastal bliss. It’s like walking through a postcard, with those lush rolling hills and grazing cows making you feel like you’ve been whisked away to the UK countryside. But then you’ve got the stunning cliffs and sparkling ocean views to remind you you’re on the east coast of Aus.
The trail is well-marked and mostly easygoing, though there are a couple of steep bits to keep it interesting. The grassy paths are perfect for a relaxed stroll, and you’ll find yourself stopping constantly to soak in the views or snap a pic. Just be aware you'll be walking on East Beach, which involves a very small river crossing - a lady staying at the Big 4 Caravan Park nearby was a LEGEND and carried us over the river! HOW ICONIC IS THAT!
Honestly, it’s one of the most stunning walks I’ve ever done on the east coast.
Start at Kiama Blowhole or Loves Bay and make your way toward Werri Beach in Gerringong – the perfect spot to cool off at the end. Bring water, snacks, swimmers (for the end) and a hat because the sun can get a bit much, and there’s not a lot of shade. Dogs are welcome on a leash, so your furry mate can come along too!
