Cable Bay Beach
A hidden gem just north of Nelson, Cable Bay is a stunning pebble beach where turquoise water meets rugged cliffs. It’s named after the telegraph cable that once connected New Zealand to the rest of the world in the 1800s. The bay is sheltered and calm, making it great for kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming on still days. There’s also the Cable Bay Walkway, a scenic track that climbs over farmland and ridgelines with sweeping views of Tasman Bay and the Horoirangi Marine Reserve below.
