Hólahólar in Snaefellsnes is an ancient crater cluster with one crater shaped like a huge amphitheater. The deserted farm Hólahólar used to be the capital of a settlement in Dritvík and Djúpalónssandur until it was abandoned in 1880. Legend has it that invisible elves (Huldufólk) have been ruling the area ever since.
