The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is probably the most iconic gardens in the Dandenong Ranges with cool-climate flora, an impressive collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, and more set among native and exotic trees.
In Autumn the Cherry Tree Grove lights up a beautiful red and forms a canopy for picnics in the shade. Don't forget to walk to the top and bottom lakes, visit the sensory garden (telephone boxes) and see those iconic Yarra Ranges in the distance. Entry is free but closes at 5pm everyday so if you'd like to walk the entire garden make sure you arrive at the latest 3:30pm so you have time to get back.
