Best For: Short hike, hidden gem, photography
Family Friendly: Yes
Warnings: Narrow paths, overgrown sections, not well maintained
A lesser known waterfall in Santana that feels much more off the beaten path. The trail follows a short levada and is not an official PR route, so it is free and much quieter.
The hike is relatively short and easy, but the path can be overgrown and a bit rough in places, so take your time.
Finding the start can be the hardest part, but once you are on the trail it is straightforward and very rewarding.
To find the start, park near the road above Faial and look for a small levada path heading into the greenery. There are no clear signs, so you are basically following the water channel from the beginning. (See pictures for reference)
Once you are on the levada, just keep following it until you reach the waterfall. It is straightforward after that, but getting onto the right path at the start is the tricky part.
