Valberget Utsiktspunkt is a watchtower located in Stavanger, Norway that was designed to replace the nearly 200-year-old wooden structure of its predecessor. This 85-foot tall tower, constructed between 1850 and 1853, was led by Christian Heinrich Grosch, Norway’s most famous architect of the time. From its vantage point on top of a hill, the watchmen were able to spot early signs of fires from one end of Stavanger to the other. Locals were alerted by the ringing of a bell and firing of cannons. Since then, the tower has provided stunning views of Stavanger, including many of the city's wooden houses, some of which survive to this day. All in all, Valbergt Utsiktspunkt proves to be a unique and historic structure that is worth visiting when exploring the area.
