This list is more so for a summer road trip.
The weather in NZ can be unpredictable. Just because you are there in the summer, does not mean every day will be hot. So packing for all weather conditions is necessary. I usually find myself wearing a jumper most days, and some days a thick jacket as it can get cold and windy.
