Colorado National Monument is a stunning slice of the American West, boasting towering monoliths, red rock canyons, and breathtaking vistas. The best way to experience the Monument is to drive Rim Rock drive, taking you 23 miles above the canyon below. Don't sleep on CNM and Grand Junction -- its the place I call home and a wonderful stop if you're heading to Moab.
Need recommendations for quick hikes? Check out Serpent's Trail or Devil's Kitchen. Wanting a more robust hike in the heart of the monument? Consider Independence Monument to Wedding Canyon loop or Liberty Cap.
Your National Parks pass will also gain you admission here so no extra money out of your pocket.
