Árnafjørður is one of those places that feels completely tucked away from the rest of the world. Sitting at the end of a long fjord and surrounded by steep mountains, it’s quiet, peaceful, and incredibly scenic, with traditional turf-roofed houses right along the water.
This is also the starting point for the hike to Katlarnir, a historic site along the coast. Even if you don’t hike, the drive here alone is worth it.
