Hoher Kasten is a breathtaking mountain destination in Appenzell that offers panoramic views of six countries. With its cable car and the revolving restaurant on the top, it's the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the stunning scenery. Hoher Kasten is the starting point of the famous Saxer Lücke hike but even if you decide to hang out on the top and not hike, it is already worth the vtime to visit.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Take the bus to Brülisau (Kastenbahn) and ride the cable car up ( in 8 minutes) to Hoher Kasten.

From here you have a very beautiful panoramic views in every direction you turn. You can relax, go to the restaurant or start your hike towards the beautiful Saxer Lücke. There is Rundweg circular trail where you can also experience the panorama.

Fun fact, children ride the cable car for free.
