Southeast of the clock tower and mosque stands the listed former home of the Academy of Science and Art. It features typical 19th-century architecture with a distinctive bay window on wooden supports and is one of the few buildings of its kind still standing. Unfortunately, the rear of the building has been marred by the addition of a modern conservatory. Visits are possible by prior arrangement. Other listed buildings can be found at the end of Rr. Emin Durak and in Rr. Afrim Loxha, east of the old town centre. (The new academy is located a little further north on the M9/Rruga Agim Ramadani.)
