The secret-coast weekender most Vancouverites haven't even done. Two ferries, zero crowds, the kind of rugged-cabin escape that goes viral on Hope & Logan's channel every time.
Day 1
Description: Quickest ferry in BC — 20 minutes from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island. A community of 3,500 people, some of the best day-hiking in the Coast Range, and a pace you'll adjust to by hour two. Morning coffee in Snug Cove (the harbour village), lunch on the water, afternoon wander along the island's main loop. Early night — tomorrow you hike.

Day 2
Description: Mount Gardner day. The highest peak on Bowen at 719m, a 14km round-trip hike through moss-covered second-growth and out to a viewpoint over Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. 5-6 hours of walking. Afternoon ferry back to the mainland, then the long drive (or the much better floatplane) north up the Sunshine Coast to Powell River — gateway to Texada.

Day 3
Description: Texada Island day one — and the reason you came. Catch the short ferry from Westview to Blubber Bay on Texada (a 100km-long forested island with just 1,100 residents). Check into Rocky Valley Resort, a cluster of handmade cabins hidden in mossy forest with wood-fired saunas, cold plunges, and treehouse lofts. Drive the island, swim in freshwater lakes, settle into cabin life.

Day 4
Description: The hike people plan the whole trip around — Tin Hat Hut. A 360-degree summit cabin on the Sunshine Coast Trail, perched at 1,200m above Powell Lake. You can hike in or drive most of the way up the service road and walk the final 2.4km in 45 minutes. The view covers the entire strait, Vancouver Island, and the Coast Range behind you. Go for sunrise if you have the legs. Ferry back to the mainland in the afternoon; home in Vancouver by nightfall.
