This is from the Moanalua Middle Ridge on the backside of the Stairway to Heaven Hike. It is the legal way onto the hike - it's very long but if you're looking for the safest way to see the stairs (without fines) then take a look at this option.

Alternatively, you can go up the stairs and then past the satellite and you'll find this spot almost immediately. If you are doing it for sunset like we did be sure to have a headlamp.
