Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is a California State Park that preserves a unique outcropping of marbleized limestone with over 1,000 mortar holes, making it the largest collection of bedrock mortars in North America. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the park offers a glimpse into the traditional Miwok way of life, where they ground acorns and seeds into meal on these rocks. The park also features petroglyphs and a reconstructed Miwok village, providing visitors with a fascinating look at the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of the area. The park also includes a campground.
