Gruyères Castle, located in the medieval town of Gruyères, Switzerland, is a famous Swiss heritage site. Built between 1270 and 1282, it was once owned by the Counts of Gruyères until their bankruptcy in 1554. Now a museum, the castle showcases three capes of the Order of the Golden Fleece and a collection of 19th-century landscapes by artists like Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. Visitors can also admire an international collection of Fantastic Art. Owned by the canton of Fribourg since 1938, the castle offers a glimpse into Swiss history and art.
