Hermit Road è il più famoso percorso panoramico del South Rim del Grand Canyon. La strada segue il bordo del canyon per 7 miglia, offrendo spettacolari vedute. Durante i mesi estivi (1 marzo - 30 novembre) questa strada è chiusa al traffico e i visitatori possono accedervi con la navetta rossa che prima di arrivare all'Hermits Rest si ferma in 8 punti panoramici designati all'andata, ma solo in 3 al ritorno (perciò stabilite bene l'ordine in cui vedere le tappe che vi interessano). Segnalo tra i più panoramici: Hopi Point, Mohave Point e The Abyss. Ogni punto offre panorami unici. Durante i mesi invernali, questa navetta non è funzione e Hermit Road è aperta ai veicoli privati. Escursionisti, corridori e ciclisti hanno invece accesso tutto l'anno. Se non avete molto tempo a disposizione e volete concentrare la visita al parco soprattutto su Hermit Road, consiglio di lasciare l'auto al parcheggio D, quello più vicino alla fermata della navetta rossa. Se invece avete parcheggiato la vostra auto nel parcheggio centrale del visitor center, potrete prendere la navetta blu che vi porterà alla fermata di partenza della navetta rossa (Hermits Rest Route Transfer).

Hermit Road is the most popular scenic route on the Grand Canyon's South Rim. The road follows the edge of the canyon for 7 miles, offering spectacular views. During the summer months (March 1 - November 30) this road is closed to traffic and visitors can access it by the red shuttle which before arriving at Hermits Rest stops at 8 designated viewpoints on the way out, but only 3 on the way back (so plan your order in which to see the stops that interest you). I point out among the most scenic: Hopi Point, Mohave Point and The Abyss. Each point offers unique panoramas. During the winter months, this shuttle does not operate and Hermit Road is open to private vehicles. On the other hand, walkers, runners and cyclists have access all year round. If you don't have much time and want to concentrate your visit to the park especially on Hermit Road, I recommend leaving your car in parking D, the one closest to the red shuttle stop. If, on the other hand, you have parked your car in the central parking lot of the visitor center, you can take the blue shuttle that will take you to the departure stop of the red shuttle (Hermits Rest Route Transfer).
