📍 Location: Ryfylke, Rogaland, Norway
📅 Best time to go: April – October (depending on snow conditions)
⛰️ Distance & Elevation: 8 km round trip | approx. 400 m elevation gain

The hike to Norway’s famous Pulpit Rock is a true bucket-list experience! The trail is well-maintained and manageable for most hikers with moderate fitness. Expect to spend around 4 hours on the round trip.

⚠️ Caution is essential near the cliff edge and on the rock itself – it drops 600 meters straight down!

The trail is open year-round, but hiking is only recommended from April onward, depending on snow conditions. There are two parking lots at the trailhead (250 NOK fee). Note that the busiest times are 8:00 to 16:00, especially on weekends and during the high season (June–August). For a quieter experience, start early or in the late afternoon.

Wild camping near the plateau is allowed in certain areas – check Preikestolen 365 for up-to-date rules.
🚐 Overnight parking for campervans is not allowed at the official parking areas.

If you're planning to hike in the dark (sunrise or sunset tours), bring a headlamp and be sure to study the route in advance.
