Mallorca is full of vibrant festivals and public holidays, offering visitors a chance to experience local culture, music, food and traditions. Knowing the dates can help you plan your trip, avoid crowds or even join a celebration.
Balearic Day (March 1)
The official holiday of the Balearic Islands, commemorating the autonomy of the region. Events include cultural programs, concerts and celebrations in Palma and other towns. A great chance to experience local pride and traditions.
Semana Santa (Easter, March/April)
One of the most important celebrations on the island. Towns like Palma, Sóller, and Pollença host processions, religious ceremonies and cultural events. Streets are decorated and many local foods are available.
Fira de Artesanía de Inca (May/September)
Celebrates traditional crafts, leatherwork and artisan goods. A great opportunity to pick up souvenirs and see local craftsmanship.
Sant Joan (June 23–24)
Celebrated in Pollença, Palma, and coastal towns with bonfires, fireworks, and beach parties for the summer solstice. A lively event full of music, tradition and fun.
La Patrona de Palma (August 15 – Assumption of Mary)
A public holiday in Palma, with religious processions, concerts and local festivities. Many smaller shops and offices may close.
Fira de Sant Bartomeu (August, Sóller)
A traditional fair with crafts, food, music, and local produce, giving a taste of authentic Mallorcan life.
Christmas & New Year (December–January)
Towns are decorated, markets and fairs open, and special nativity scenes (“Belenes”) are displayed. Some attractions may have reduced hours.
