🎫 Venice Vaporetto Pass: What It Includes (and What It Doesn’t)

Your essential guide to getting from the airport to Venice (and what the vaporetto pass really covers).

Planning to use public transport in Venice? The ACTV passes (valid for 1, 2, 3, or 7 days) offer unlimited rides on all waterbuses (vaporetti) within the city and to the islands — Murano, Burano, Lido, Giudecca, etc.

But here's what many don’t realize:

🚫 These passes do not include the airport transfer.

That means no ATVO or ACTV airport buses, and no Alilaguna water shuttles from Marco Polo Airport.

✈️ Getting to Venice from the airport?

You’ll need a separate ticket for:

– 🚍 ATVO Express Bus (fast, direct to Piazzale Roma)

– 🚍 ACTV Bus 5 (local route)

– 🚤 Alilaguna Boat (water route to central stops)

✅ You can buy ACTV passes online via Venezia Unica, at airport kiosks, or in Venice. They activate on first use — and are valid for consecutive hours (not calendar days).

Pro tip: Get a pass that covers your full stay (they pay off quickly!) — and just grab a separate airport ticket when you land.
