Teatro Massimo is the main attraction of the garden of Palazzo Borromeo. It's an amphitheater-like structure with ten flower-filled terraces arranged to form a truncated pyramid. Statues, fountains, and carefully planned architectural perspectives create a flawlessly balanced effect.
At the top stands the unicorn, the heraldic symbol of the Borromeo family, ridden by Honor and flanked by statues representing Art and Nature.
Most of these sculptures were made by Carlo Simonetta in the late 17th century.
From the grand terrace at the top you can enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding area.
As part of your visit to Isola Bella, the Teatro Massimo is included in the ticket for Isola Bella.
