If you want an easy, scenic marble run hike near Lucerne, this is a great pick, especially in May when higher mountain trails can still have snow. You might even time it with wildflowers in the spring!

Getting Here

📍 Grepperstrasse 43, 6403 Küssnacht am Rigi

This trail is on the Rigi mountain near Lucerne. You can get here by car or the Seeboden cable car.

By Car:

• Park at the valley cable car station, then take the cable car

• OR drive all the way up to Seebodenstrasse (limited paid parking at top)

By Train/Bus:

Train to Küssnacht am Rigi
Then bus to “Küssnacht am Rigi, Seilbahn”

How It Works

1. Buy a Chugelbahn marble at the valley cable car station

2. Take the Seebodenalp gondola up

3. Follow signs for “Chugelbahn”

4. Pick your loop

   1. Mini loop (700 m) – great for toddlers

   2. Main loop (5.2 km) – best overall experience

   3. Main loop + detour (6.9 km)

5. End with lunch at the terrace restaurant
