Escape to one of Madeira's few natural sand beaches, a beautiful cove of dark, volcanic sand tucked away near Caniçal. It's a local favorite for its calm, clear waters, perfect for a swim or some snorkeling. You'll need to take a paved path and some stairs down from the free car park, but the secluded feel and dramatic, arid cliffs make the short trek entirely worth it. There's a small café on the beach, so you can easily spend a couple of hours soaking it all in.
