For one of the best views over Muscat, you'll want to head to the Yiti Viewpoint. From up here, you can see the white buildings of the city tucked between the mountains - which kinda makes you realize how well Muscat blends into its surroundings!
Fun fact - Muscat actually has some very strict building regulations. High-rises aren’t allowed, and buildings have to stick to neutral, sandy tones. That’s why the city looks so cohesive and calm; it’s actually by design!
Notes:
It’s a particularly nice spot for sunset. The light turns warm, the mountains glow a bit - the perfect place for some nice pictures!
While the viewpoint is just steps from the road, be aware that parking is very limited. I took a Tasleem* taxi up and down, which worked perfectly.
*The most popular ride app in Oman is oTaxi, but you need a local phone number to use it. So if you’re visiting and don’t have a local SIM, Tasleem is your best bet (and in my experience worked perfectly every time).
